The Week That Was 24th November 2012

It was an extraordinary week in the football world as the first two Premier League managerial casualties of the season fell.

Having failed to play Fernando Torres in the 3-0 defeat at Juventus, Roberto Di Matteo was promptly dismissed and replaced within 24 hours by Rafa Benitez on an interim basis.

Thursday saw the news that referee Mark Clattenburg would face no charges from the FA after the allegations that were made in the wake of Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester United.

Friday saw Mark Hughes finally relieved of his duties at QPR after a dismal start to the season left Rangers firmly at the bottom. Harry Redknapp was announced as his replacement on Saturday morning.
